Nau-recycled-down

10 Sep This fall Nau introduce recycled down to their collection

This fall, Nau introduce the world to recycled down. This innovation allows Nau to eliminate using all 650-fill virgin down going forward, cutting back on post-consumer waste by extending the life of a raw material.

The story of recycled down begins at Nau’s headquarters in Portland, where Nau is always on the hunt for unfound solutions to problems currently facing the apparel industry. From there to a facility outside Paris, France, that collects and inspects post-consumer pillows and blankets, sorting the feathers into different categories. The last stop on the journey lies just outside Budapest, Hungary, where the down is quality checked, sorted and cleaned in the same way virgin down is. And finally, the recycled down comes back to Nau ready to be used, just like new. All 650-fill down styles in the Fall 2015 Collection are made with recycled down like the Copenhagen Trench (image), which is fully seamed, waterproof and breathable.
